This page explains the main controls and data-protection rights available in TheoryXP. It is designed to work as a direct privacy-choices page as well as a companion to the full Privacy Policy.

In-app controls

Export My Data

Use Export My Data in TheoryXP to create an export of the account/profile and learner information currently included by the backend export function. A data export is useful, but it does not limit your separate legal right of access.

Delete Account

Use Delete Account to initiate deletion of your TheoryXP account and account-linked learner data from active TheoryXP systems, subject to information that must lawfully be retained separately and limited provider backup retention described in the Privacy Policy.

Deleting the app from your iPhone does not itself delete the server-side account.

Hide History is different

The current Hide History control hides older Practice history from that view. It is not an account-erasure control and does not erase the underlying learning evidence used by the performance system.

Your legal rights

Depending on the processing and lawful basis, you may have rights to:

  • be informed about how your information is used;
  • access your personal information;
  • correct inaccurate personal information;
  • request erasure;
  • request restriction;
  • object to processing based on legitimate interests;
  • receive certain information in a portable format; and
  • withdraw consent where a particular processing activity genuinely relies on consent.

You do not need to quote the UK GDPR, use a particular form or use legal terminology. A clear request made to support@theoryxp.app will be assessed according to what you are asking for.

Identity checks

We may ask for proportionate information to confirm identity or authority where this is reasonably necessary to avoid disclosing or changing another person’s data. We will not ask for more identity evidence than the circumstances reasonably require.

Response time

We respond without undue delay and normally within one calendar month. Where the law allows extra time because a request is complex or you have made multiple requests, we may extend the deadline by up to a further two months and will explain this within the initial period.

Requests involving younger learners

A child can have data-protection rights in their own information. We consider the learner’s understanding, identity/authority and best interests when dealing with a request involving a younger user. A parent or other person does not automatically gain access to a learner’s information merely because of their relationship; appropriate authority and the circumstances must be considered.

Objecting to legitimate-interests processing

Where TheoryXP relies on legitimate interests, you may object. We will assess the objection against the applicable legal test and the learner’s circumstances. If an upheld objection concerns processing genuinely necessary for a particular personalised/server-backed feature, that feature may no longer be available in the same form.

Data-protection complaint

Email support@theoryxp.app and state that you are making a data-protection complaint. You do not need to use a special form. TheoryXP will acknowledge a data-protection complaint within 30 days, investigate it without undue delay and communicate the outcome.

Account inactivity

If there is no recorded account activity for 12 months, the account may become eligible for deletion. Where an email address is available, TheoryXP sends an advance warning and provides at least 30 days before deletion. A Guest account without a linked email address may not receive that warning.
